OUR FIRST LADY
Sister Ellen P. Barney
Ellen Barney is a native of Howard County, Maryland. Ellen began her walk with the Lord Jesus Christ in 1975 when her husband, Pastor Kenneth L. Barney, Sr., led her to salvation. A gifted teacher, administrator, speaker, and encourager. She has a burden regarding the women of God, especially those who are hurting. Ellen was instrumental in designing and teaching several women’s classes at New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown (NABCOR). These classes include Women’s Discipleship, three levels of Lay Encouragers and Disciplers (LEAD) classes, and the level-four class, Know Thyself. This particular class is designed to help women learn and understand how prolonged dysfunctional emotions impede relationships and spiritual maturity. After that, she taught a class entitled, Drawing Nigh…Becoming Intimate with Christ. Most recently, she taught a class entitled, Battle Ground of Wills: God’s Will Verses Our Will-Who Will Win?! Also, Ellen has served as the Director of Women’s Ministries at New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown for over 27 years, guiding the spiritual growth and Christian education of hundreds of women. In this role, she oversees the planning of the Women’s Executive Board, Women’s Retreats, Fellowships and Conferences, Women’s Bible Classes, and over 16 women’s ministries within NABCOR. She too does professional biblical and pastoral counseling.
